The Work Goes On
DINOSAURS!!!
I found this legit thing at a member's home!
As far as
everything else goes, the work is still slowly picking up in our area, but it's
getting there. I have appreciated being a District Leader again since it has
given me the opportunity to seek revelation for what is needed for all of our
areas to progress, and we have seen great results from applying such things
into our own proselyting program. While we are still imperfect and require more
work, we have been able to see how important it is to proclaim the importance
of the Restoration.
My Arizona/mission pride drawing is finished! I hope you all like it. :)
You see, the Work is unique here in Iowa
because the majority of people here are already God-fearing men and women. Most
people go to a church, and as such they have heard many "rumors"
about our faith either from their own research or what their pastors have told
them. At least, that is generally what seems to be the typical concerns with
most people. So what needs to be done is this case is to have a strong focus on
the need for a Restoration, because if people see that it actually took place,
then we are justified in sharing it with everyone.
I know for myself that the
Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored in its fullness through the Prophet Joseph
Smith, The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and that the
Priesthood of God is back on the earth, so that is what keeps me going even
when people tell me I am wrong square in the face. Sometimes I wish that I was
more bold in defending such truths in some respects, but I am working on it. I
take courage in the fact that no matter what, my companion and I are preaching
the truth. As we continue to rely on the Spirit even more and work diligently
from day to day, I know that we shall find the elect. The Lord is already
helping us with that, because we found two new investigators last week
(Kim and John), and we have many more potentials to follow-up
with in this upcoming week.
It's nice to have a frozen yogurt joint right by our place.
Elder Peterson, one of my Zone Leaders, and I following exchanges! Here we are at Culver's.
So as I have said in the title, the Work goes
on undaunted. I shall not stop until the Lord tells me to do so. I pray that
the same may be the case for you too, both for those who are wearing the
signature black name tag and who are not. I love you all! Happy belated Columbus Day!
Scripture of the Week: Ether 2:9 (In reference to Columbus Day, remember that this land was given to us as a privilege. If we
live here in the United States, always keep in mind that we need to keep the
commandments and serve the One who gave it to us, or else you will lose your
precious gift of freedom.)
