As I Complete My Bachelors Degree
You may have noticed that over the past few weeks, I have barely posted any reviews on the main blog site. Typically my average post frequency ranges from 2-3 a week, but not recently. Instead, as you likely already observed, I have been doing my best to write plenty of mini-reviews on the Facebook page. I’ve been lucky to find time to see new movies, let alone write reviews that are close in length to some collegiate essays. This pattern of behavior I’ve laid out has enabled me to keep both parts of this hobby up, and I am grateful for that.
But for the sake of keeping you loyal readers informed, I want to share with you why I haven’t published a complete blog since Thursday, October 18.
Prior to my mission, I completed a semester of general studies at Arizona State University. Upon returning from Iowa, I came back to ASU, anxious about how I would adjust to college life a mere 3 weeks after having ended my missionary service. This burden was already contributing to the stress of starting things back up at my old job and figuring out how to prioritize my (then-new) relationship with the lovely girl who would eventually become my wife.

It’s been nearly three years since that time, and things have certainly progressed. I have gone through a number of different jobs, while still maintaining that original theater job to the point in which I now work as an Assistant Manager. My wife and I are preparing to move into a house within the next months. And then, to top everything off, I am scheduled to graduate five weeks from tomorrow.
But because of the admittedly high stress which results from balancing work schedule, classes, Church responsibilities, and any possible time to spend with my wife or watching movies, I’m simply not motivated to write posts of at least 1,000 words a pop. I’m far from the point of hanging up the towel, believe me. However, knowing that the end of this phase of my life is just around the corner, I have to press on.
I’m sure you all can understand this. There comes a time in everyone’s life when it’s necessary to set everything in order and remain focused on a hugely important task. Such is my current lot, for if I complete the daunting tasks which stand before me, doors leading to greater opportunities will open.
Since I am determined to finish my Marketing degree with solid grades, I will not be writing full reviews on the blog throughout the entire month of November, and possibly during the first week of December depending on how finals go. During this final stretch, I don’t want to be distracted by my hobby. But as I alluded to earlier, I won’t abandon it; I’m just taking a sort of break for now.
Still, you should expect Facebook reviews to show up at least a couple of times each week. I just apologize ahead of time for any posts you may have been looking forward to. Because of this decision, I also have to apologize that you have to miss out on these days that would have been posted either in the past two weeks or throughout the month of November:
-Retro Movie Minute review of The Shining, in addition to another one other post for November
-Movie Battles for Halloween (1978) and Halloween (2018), as well as Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet
-Top 10 Favorite Disney Animated Films (this will need to be put off until Frozen 2 hits theaters next year)
-Full reviews for First Man, Free Solo, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Grinch, Overlord, Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald, Creed, and other movies
Either way, I am confident that everything will work out to where I can finish my degree and then get right back to regularly posting content. My plans for December include reviewing plenty of blockbusters, year-end lists, and content related to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate since I will be playing the heck out of that game.

In any case, thanks for your support as always. I look forward to providing more content when the time comes.
